Emerald District
Information
A Galahdian-style bar and grill in the Emerald District. It's a smaller, cozier location - made to feel more like a hole in the wall where everyone knows your name. Nyx Ulric (![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png){kind=small}
warpspammer) is the current sole proprietor, though he is looking to hire help since it's hard to distill, mix drinks and make food! It tends towards spicy food, delicious curry soups and grilled meats seasoned with special sauce. There is the occasional pastry that makes its way into the menu, though.
The decor aims for the style of their homeland, featuring art and prints of animals, warm colored walls, seats and cloths, and a real wooden bar and support beams. There's a spot to sit at the bar, in a booth or even on the floor if one is so inclined.
Menu
SPICY SKEWERSHearty chunks of meat, garlic, and potato, seasoned with spices, and grilled to order. Served with a spicy red curry sauce on the side.
GALAHDIAN MOMOS
Dumplings filled with pork, onion and grated garlic, steamed to perfection. Served with a chili dipping sauce (chiles, garlic, coriander, salt and tomato).
MACHA TAREKO
Marinated fish slices that are then breaded and fried. Served with lemon, cucumber and tomato or coriander chutney.
DAL
A hearty lentil soup, made with fish broth, turmeric, ginger, garlic, onion, asoefetida, cumin, and chiles. Very spicy but very refreshing.
HEARTY STIR FRY
Slow cooked marinated chicken or beef, served over a bed of wild rice with onion, ginger and garlic.
CHEF'S SPECIAL
If you feel like being surprised, ask for this one. Also counts as a daily special.
Drink List
OSTI-RUMA molasses-based rum with a high alcohol content. Naturally sweet, and flavored with cardamom, nutmeg and cinnamon notes. Can also be mixed into coffee or milk.
BLACK CROWE
A malt whiskey made by Nyx in honor of a fallen friend from home. It's infused with ginger and honey, with a hint of heat at the end.
COEURL'S BLOOD
Traditionally made using Coeurl Whiskers and Galahdian gruit. (The replacement gruit is a trade secret). It's a dark ale with a spicy kick and a tartness from native Sumarlok fruits.
LION'S KISS
Mead fermented from Yaranakan honey, flavored with unripe raspberries to add a tart bite and a hint of cinnamon at the end.
BROKEN HORN
A homebrewed cloudy wheat beer, with hints of ginger and lemongrass. Named in honor of a missing friend.
Cocktails
KHARA LASSIFrozen mango, Primavera honey, and Sumarlok yogurt blended together with ice and a shot of Osti-rum to create a delicious frozen drink. Topped with cardamom and cinnamon. Can be ordered virgin.
THE PRINCESS
A cocktail of homemade lavender or sylleblossom syrup mixed, with a sweet white wine and white edible glitter, topped with a candied sylleblossom and a sprig of fresh lavender.
PROSECUTION COMPLEX
Black Crowe whiskey, orange liqueur, vodka, amaretto and sloe gin are mixed over ice, then topped with fresh blood orange juice and garnished with an additional blood orange slice.
ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
Sylleblossom and melon liqueur mixed with sour mix and 1 oz of either Osti-rum or a spicy tequila, and a dash of cayenne. A shot that hits sweet and burns.
BLUE ON VIDEO
A cocktail of blue curacao, peach schnapps, white rum mixed with black and white edible glitter and either white soda or club soda (for the less sweet inclined), garnished with an orange or lemon slice.
SAGEFIRE
Infused blue gin and red edible glitter topped with Osti-rum, then lit on fire using magic. Lemon and elderflower syrup and vodka are added while it's lit to turn it purple-red, then the flames are smothered and the shot is served.
GALAHDIAN WELCOME
A cocktail mixed with coeurl's blood, Osti-rum, vodka, coconut cream, pineapple juice and a dash of grenadine, garnished with a cherry and a slice of pineapple. Ordering it usually gets a good, fond laugh from Nyx.
